Stage 3 students are studying "Australia as a Nation" as part of their history unit. To consolidate learning, an excursion to the Big Dig Archaeology Education Centre in Sydney has been organised, to enable students to travel back in time to The Rocks in the 1800s to learn about life through the eyes of archaeology. Students will tour four archaeological sites, dig for artefacts and analyse artefacts found. They will learn about the experiences of convicts and free settlers who lived and worked on the site 200 years ago.
Travel to the site will be by bus. All permission notes and payments need to be returned by Wednesday 29 May 2024.
Students must wear their school uniform and bring their recess and lunch to school in a plastic bag.
